Jan 29th

Beryl has been sew strips into long lengths then joining from
each end ,as seen on You tube. Both of these will be
charity quilts to be donated. She still says she's sewing scraps,
as always so beautiful.

A lovely day at Caverswall, Beth arrived bearing do-nuts, Annie pie called to say hello. Jenny continues with her chevron quilt and some embroidered squares, samples from her new machine. We are both travelling to Bath next week to the Husqvarna sewing center. Another big learning curve on new machines.
This will be a cover for a note book.

More samples from the fabric donation, this is in
velvet and brocade.

This is my Hunters star quilt from last week.
pinned and ready to quilt.

Another book cover by Irene, she's done lots for charity.

Beryl has been sewing strips ,chopping up etc, as she does. This will be for herself.
When our new baby was announced the chosen colour scheme was greys and beige. Any one who knows me will tell you not my first chose at all. I like colour.Anyhow this was started and put aside
now we have a name it had to be finished. The applique was from a magazine and I added the names.

Wed 20th Jan

A lovely day at Caverswall ,no birthdays, but a visit from Annie pie resulted in scones, strawberries and even Sloe gin! A few weeks ago a lady brought a car full of furnishing samples, yardage and sample books, really expensive ones. We had great fun cutting up and paying a token amount for our charity,as in the previous postings we made a donation to Dougie Mac.She has called again, this bag was made by Linda, the wadding is from Angies shop in Cheadle , Its really good for bags, called Bosal.
Annie pie wanted to make a Bargello quilt,
she had made an autumn  one so had a good   idea of
placement.
This was made in a spare moment with
same fabrics.

Irene made lots of book covers for canoe club last year.
She made another as a commission for a friend.

She has lots of orphan blocks donated and will be busy for
 quite a time.
This is a chevron quilt for Jenny's friend
very striking in black and white.

This is my quick trip around the world,
I could have possibly been on a trip for the time
             its taken me to complete.

This is Jenny's table quilt,
designed using just the angles on her cutting board .
very cleaver.

9th Jan 2016

Wednesday 13th January will be the first quilting day of the new year, here's hoping the weather stays good, looking forward to seeing all the quilting that's been done during the break. Malc and myself are invited to  a Christening on Sunday morning, the little boy Jacob was born in July, I decided to make a quilt during the new year for his present. Malc chose the fabric as I had been
looking for blues, I had seen a picture on the web so drew the dogs my self and appliqued them onto
10in squares. It made up very quickly, here's a photo because it will be given tommorrow.

Most will by now have heard that Malc and myself have a new baby great grand daughter named Jasmine Storm Young. Quite a handle, don't you think? This is a quilt I made her,the pattern is a Kids Quilt pattern ,i bought from Harrogate show in November. A joy to make and easy to follow .Angie's quilt shop in Cheadle are now stocking the range (a whole wall full). These blogs will be hit and miss as each one needs me the pshyc myself first.
