Well I was a bit worried on Wednesday this week, because it had been snowing!!! So I dug my car out and set off to the village hall in hope that someone might be there, When I arrived I was so happy to see Wendy and Jenny, then Cathy appeared then Irene, I couldn't believe it! then Lynda, Margaret and Kate appeared!! Well I think that just shows how much the sewing day means to everyone, then Merilla  and Chris appeared! Fantastic everyone deserves a medal for the effort this week :)

Cathy is working on a new Bargelo Quilt, in these lovely purples,
I cant wait to see how she goes on with this :)

koalas!

Our dear Wendy this week, was talking koala mittens, well we all thought she had lost the plot at first! Then she mentioned the Australia bush fires, and a plea for mittens
and that's all the information she had. So I had a look on line and found this on the news round web site.

So if any one wants to make any pouches, I cant see a pattern sorry but there is
 a good picture of them

Welcome back!

Welcome back to all our lovely ladies, everyone has had a lovely Christmas and New Year.

We also had cake today :) because it was our wonderful Cathy's Birthday - Happy Birthday!

Lets see what they have been up to,

Cathy has brought along with her this beautiful log cabin table runner,
which she made with her scraps :)

We had another new lady today Erica, and she brought along this fantastic
yellow and grey quilt top, I really love these colours!

Wendy is working on this wonderful scrap quilt, at the moment she is adding
the purple boarders :)

Wendy also brought along this lovely orange and black quilt top with her

Wendy also had time to finish yet another Linus Quilt,
this top was started by Annette  :)

Wendy was also sandwiching yet another quilt! this photo just shows
how much room we have, we are very lucky!

Chris had been shopping, and brought along this beautiful panel ready for
Christmas! it's never to early to start?

I noticed today how big our library has become! this was a fantastic idea
and a great way of getting new ideas and inspiration. :)

Jenny has been working with hexagons, she had some hexagon templates
which she sews on, then once she has sewn them together,
she tears off the paper, some people leave the paper on for an extra bit of
warmth :)

Aunty Beryl has been working on a 'feely bag' and was in the search for fur!!

and me well, I had a play with bits of scraps because I didn't really have a project in mind,
so I'll share with you what I did over Christmas,

My daughter had an old baby seat for her dolly which looked
as you can see "a bit pants"

So Tar Dar!!!   Much better :)

I was also asked to make a taggie blanket Tar Dar!

that's it for our first week back

see you soon xx

Happy New Year!

I would like to take this chance to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Also to remind everyone that;

Our fabulous quilting/sewing class/session is starting back on Wednesday 14th January 2015

You do not have to pre book to come to these sessions or commit to coming
every week or even all day, some ladies just do the morning session.

All new comers are welcome, so if your New Years Resolution is to get out more, to make
new friends, to start a new hobby or refresh an old one, you can pop in and see us any time between 10-3 on Wednesdays. Our new Ladies Emma and Barbra did, and they are really enjoying it!

and me I cant wait till the 14th to see everyone and to see what they have been up to :)
